Prison Bridge

Prison Bridge

The Hapsiyaş Bridge is a unique piece of art that is 10 km away from the Çaykara District on the Trabzon - Uzungöl route.

It was built on Solaklı Stream by Abdülaziz Sandıkçı in 1935 to ensure the passage of vehicles, pedestrians and animals. It is made of wood and tile and has a span of 20 m. Since it is made of wood, it creates problems in terms of durability and building life. That's why the Hapsiyas Bridge was restored for the second time. Its first restoration was carried out extensively in 1987 by T.C Highways. Its second restoration was restored in 2002 by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works as part of the flood regulation of Solaklı Creek. During this restoration, a recreation area was built for the visitors of the Hapsiyas Bridge.

Grand Çaykaram Hotel, Your Comfortable Stop on Your Trabzon-Uzungol Trip

Since the Prison Bridge is unlike any other, it was accepted as a monument by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey in 1996. The bridge is used for pedestrian traffic today. There is a walking path and a viewing terrace within the bridge.

We definitely recommend you to visit the Hapsiyaş Bridge, which is a rare work on this road from Trabzon to Uzungöl. Grand Çaykaram Hotel is 12 minutes away and your route to Uzungöl is at a point where you can relax.
